Setting up your Domain & Hosting

Unlike Blogger or WordPress.com, WordPress.org is a self-hosting blogging platform. This means, you will need to purchase your domain and hosting through a web hosting service company. After many trials and much research, I strongly recommend using Siteground.com. Among many competitors, Siteground is one the of fastest, most reliable and secure hosting company’s out there. They’ll also quickly and simply help you install WordPress on your domain.

Siteground offers three different hosting plans, StartUp, GrowBig and GoGeek. For our purposes, you will only need their basic plan, which costs $3.95 a month. Once you’ve completed the registration process, you’re ready to install WordPress to your domain.

Siteground should prompt you to use their WordPress Wizard, however, I’ve included the link below with step-by-step instructions on the easiest WordPress installation process.

You can always login to your site by going to http://www.”yoursitenamehere.com”/wp-admin.

And that’s it! You’ve officially created your very own WordPress site.
